A two-vehicle collision on Tuesday in Deaf Smith County injured five Hereford drivers. The accident occurred at around 2:10 p.m. when a 2004 Ford F150 was pulling out of a private driveway onto U.S. Highway 60 west of Hereford. The pickup failed to yield right of way and a 2002 Nissan Altima heading west struck the driver’s side of the pickup. Gabriela Rivera Dies In ATV Accident

A 15-year-old Lyford High School athlete was killed Monday night in an ATV accident east of Lyford. Eight girls were riding a 2012 Polaris Ranger Crew 500 all-terrain vehicle when apparently its right tires hit a patch of mud and caused it to rollover. Gabriela "Gaby" Rivera died from her injuries sustained in the accident. Another 15-year-old girl was in critical condition. A 15-year-old boy was killed in a one-vehicle accident on Highway 271 in Red River County Saturday morning. The fatal accident happened 10:35 a.m. on US 271, one-half mile north of CR 1410 in Red River County. A northbound 2001 Ford F-150 driven by Yovani Bonilla Ugalde, 21, of Cookville, Texas, was towing a 2006 shop-built semi-trailer. Laken Cole Souser, 26, was heading west on a Suzuki motorcycle at about 7:50 p.m. near the intersection of Westmeadow and West Henderson streets.
