A head-on crash near the Bossier-Webster parish line killed a Doyline teen and injured two others.
At about 4:30 p.m. Sunday, a 1999 Dodge Caravan was heading east on LA Highway 164 when it crossed the center line and struck a 2006 Hyundai Elantra.
The impact killed 15-year-old Matthew Kirkheart, a passenger of the Dodge Caravan. He sustained fatal injuries during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the van, Joshua Kirkheart, 17, of Doyline, and the car’s driver, Aaron Hickinbottom, 19, of Lubbock, Texas, both sustained life-threatening injuries.
A total of seven people were taken to local hospitals as a result of the wreck.
Louisiana State Police are investigating the cause of the crash. Toxicology samples were obtained and submitted for analysis.
