General Motors has announced a new recall of more than 1.3m vehicles due to an electronic power steering threat which "could increase the risk of a crash", the company says. The recall follows separate allegations that an engineer ignored GM standards when approving a design change for faulty ignition switches. That fault has thus far been linked to at least a dozen deaths. Some 2.6m cars have been recalled for the initial ignition switch defect. Juan Alcala Faces Manslaughter Charges After I-35 Wreck

A motorcyclist is charged with intoxication manslaughter after a wreck that killed a woman on Interstate 35 Sunday night. A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run accident early Sunday in Dallas. Franklin Clay, 22, was crossing eastbound lanes of U.S. Highway 175 near Pine Street when he was hit by a vehicle between 1 and 1:30 a.m. A driver of a Chevrolet Blazer said he was struck by a blue Chevrolet Tahoe, causing it to spin out of control. An accident that happened early Sunday on Interstate Highway 35 near Valley View Lane killed one person and led to the arrest of another. Farmers Branch police spokesman Sgt.
