Jimmy Charles Young Jr. Killed in Cherokee County Logging Accident

A tree fell on a Henderson man during a logging accident Sunday afternoon in Cherokee County. Jimmy Charles Young Jr., 38, was on a property owned by William Carroll Hollis of Alto, working with other loggers to clear trees when a large tree he was cutting fell on top of him. The accident occurred before 3:00pm on Hwy. 21 East at the Angelina River bridge. A co-worker tried moving the tree with equipment, while another called 9-1-1. Douglas VFD and Nacogdoches EMS responded immediately but found Young dead at the scene. The case is still under investigation.

Salvador Del Rio Killed in Saturday Morning Crash

An Austin man died in a two-vehicle collision in Eastern Travis County early Saturday morning. At around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, a 2006 BMW was traveling southbound on FM 973 when it swerved onto the northbound lanes and crashed into a 2000 Audi 4-door vehicle. The person driving the BMW, identified as Salvador Del Rio, 26, of Austin, was killed from injuries sustained in the fatal accident. The Texas Department of Public Safety officials have not confirmed if speed or alcohol were a factor.

Two people on board a small plane died in a plane crash Saturday afternoon in a remote area between Llano and Burnet. Texas Department of Public Safety officials say the plane that originated from Kerrville crashed around 3:30 Saturday afternoon a few miles east of the City of Llano off Highway 29 & Ranch Road 2241, approximately 5 driving miles from the Llano Municipal Airport. Javier Castellanos Died in McAllen Motorcycle Accident

A motorcycle driver was killed in a crash early Friday morning in north McAllen. According to McAllen police, it was 1:30 a.m. Friday when the fatal wreck happened at the intersection of North McColl Road and La Vista Avenue. A motorcycle and a car with several people were involved in the wreck. The motorcyclist, identified as Javier Castellanos, and people from the car, were rushed to the hospital. Castellanos was in critical condition and later died from his injuries caused by the accident.

Christopher Delacruz Found Dead in Vehicle Near Abilene Motel

A death investigation is conducted for a man found dead in his vehicle outside a motel Thursday night. The family of 24-year-old Christopher Delacruz rushed him to a hospital after he was found not breathing inside a vehicle at a west Abilene motel. Delacruz was declared dead at Hendrick Medical Center. A Taylor County justice of the peace ordered an autopsy on his body. Abilene police don't believe there is any criminal activity involved. Investigation continues as authorities await the autopsy report.

On Thursday, August 23, 2012 The Department of Public Safety troopers responded to a report of an accident at 11:41 p.m. The executive director of the Midland Odessa Transportation Organization, Tim Dolan died in a car wreck. Jose Guadalupe Martinez Dies in Fatal Accident in Brownwood

A fatal two-vehicle accident in Brownwood on Monday afternoon claimed the life of a 21-year-old man. The accident that occurred at about 5 p.m. in the 1700 block of Austin Avenue involved a 1981 Chevrolet pickup and a 2000 Mercury Sable. According to Brownwood Assistant Police Chief James Fuller, the driver of the sedan, identified as Jose Guadalupe Martinez, 21, was removed from his vehicle and transported to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center. Martinez was pronounced dead at 8 p.m. The Texas Department of Public Safety continues investigating the accident.

A man has been charged with the death of his wife in a fatal crash that occurred early Sunday morning. At 3:05 a.m., Mark Angel Albarez Jr., 26, of Buda, was driving northbound on FM 2001 with his wife, Stephanie Ann Albarez, 26. A large crowd gathered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Tuesday when a special Candlelight Mass of Angels service was offered to remember five young parishioners who were killed in a fatal car accident last Monday. Lufkin Boy Airlifted to Hospital After Wreck

A 10-year-old boy riding his bicycle was injured after being hit by a truck Monday afternoon on Atkinson Drive. At around 4:45 p.m. Monday, a Lufkin boy was riding his bicycle crossing Atkinson Drive at Trenton Avenue when an ABC Auto Parts truck struck him. According to a witness, the truck driven by Misty Haffner, 31, of Lufkin, was going around 40-45 mph and attempted to stop. The boy was life-flighted to Memorial Hermann in Houston with a possible head injury, according to his father. Haffner was arrested on an unrelated warrant.
