A tree fell on a Henderson man during a logging accident Sunday afternoon in Cherokee County.
Jimmy Charles Young Jr., 38, was on a property owned by William Carroll Hollis of Alto, working with other loggers to clear trees when a large tree he was cutting fell on top of him. The accident occurred before 3:00pm on Hwy. 21 East at the Angelina River bridge.
A co-worker tried moving the tree with equipment, while another called 9-1-1. Douglas VFD and Nacogdoches EMS responded immediately but found Young dead at the scene.
The case is still under investigation.
