Carel Iven Killed in Carter County Accident

A crash in Carter County Friday afternoon claimed the life of a woman. The deadly accident involving two vehicles occurred near exit 29 in Ardmore around 5 o'clock. John Iven, 70, was trying to get back on I-35 when he collided with a pickup driven by 59-year-old James Wayne Pierce. John Iven's passenger Carel Iven, of Bedford, Texas was ejected from the vehicle and died on the scene. Authorities say John Iven was treated and released from a local hospital. Pierce was unharmed.

DPS trooper Injured in Wreck in Upshur County

A Department of Public Safety trooper was injured after his car was T-boned in Upshur County Friday morning. On Highway 271 about five miles south of Gilmer, trooper Drew Nipp attempted to do a U-turn in pursuit of another vehicle for a traffic violation when a truck from behind struck the patrol car’s side door. Trooper Nipp was taken to a Longview hospital with minor injuries. The pick-up truck driver, 64-year-old Donna Young of Gilmer, was sent to ETMC in Gilmer with non-life threatening injuries. No charges have been filed. Authorities continue investigation on the collision.

Eastland County Accident Claims Llife of Jessica Marie Rogers

A former Henrietta High School student died in a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 20 west of Eastland Thursday morning. Jessica Marie Rogers, 20, of Henrietta, had been in Stephenville to visit friends when the fatal accident happened. At about 7:45 a.m., she was driving to Abilene in a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro when her vehicle struck the rear of a 1998 Freightliner, driven by Danny R. Howell of Ranger. Grammy-winning country-music singer Randy Travis was arrested late Tuesday near his hometown of Tioga, about 60 miles north of Dallas where the entertainer lives, after his Pontiac Trans Am veered off the roadway  and smashed into highway construction barriers. The “He Walked on Water” singer was charged with driving while intoxicated and threatening law officers after the crash. Three teenagers were involved in a deadly car crash in Hallsville Tuesday that killed a 16-year old male Hallsville High School student and injured two others. Daniel Sauls Killed in 4-wheeler Accident

A 20-year-old Midland man was discovered dead at a Hess lease approximately 4/10 of a mile south of 62-180 Tuesday. Daniel Sauls and a co-worker were cleaning up a pipeline right of way. Both were employed by AAW services out of Midland, TX. A one-vehicle rollover in U.S. Highway 79 on Monday killed an Arkansas man and injured two from Alto. Lance Nolan Elrod, 28, of Alto, was driving west on the highway in a 2003 Dodge 1500 truck along with passengers Michael James Griffin Jr., 22, of Arkansas, and Timmy Lynn Newman, 16, of Alto. A woman died in a one-vehicle accident on Sunday, just north of Fayette. At about 2:42 a.m., Tabatha F. Davis, 40, of Fayette, was driving north on Mississippi 553 when her SUV ran off the roadway, turned over and crashed into a tree. A Bowie County man died as a result of a head-on collision between an 18-wheeler and a Chevy Camaro on Interstate 44 north of Wichita Falls on Monday. Two Mineola people were taken to separate hospitals after a motorcycle smashed into a car on Highway 80 Monday night.
