An Edinburg woman was struck and killed Friday night while walking in the middle of the road. The incident occurred at about 8:30 p.m. on FM 907, south of Minnesota Road when 49-year-old Beatrice Olvera Alvarez was hit by a Ford F250. She was pronounced dead at the scene. According to investigators, another person had called 911 minutes before the accident reporting a woman was walking in the streets. A man died after he was thrown off of his motorcycle on Hwy. 59 in Texarkana, Texas, early Friday morning. Kevin Butts, 40, of Hooks, Texas, suffered severe injuries after his motorcycle ran into a concrete barrier wall. He was pronounced dead at Christus St. Michael Hospital. Another teen involved in the ATV rollover accident on Monday that killed 15-year-old Lyford High School athlete, Gabriela "Gaby" Rivera, remains in critical condition Thursday. Fifteen-year-old Mireya Ortega was one of the eight girls riding a 2012 Polaris Ranger Crew 500 all-terrain vehicle that rolled over. The ATV landed on top of Ortega after it flipped. Michael H. Hutchings Killed After Colliding With UPS Delivery Truck

An United Parcel Service truck hit and killed a Louisiana bicyclist in Randall County Thursday afternoon. Michael H. Hutchings, 56, of Bossier City, La., was pronounced dead at the scene after an eastbound UPS delivery truck hit him on the shoulder of State Highway 217 east of Farm-to-Market Road 1541. According to troopers, the accident happened at about 3:15 p.m. when Hutchings glided toward the shoulder stripe, hitting his head on the truck’s side-view mirror as it passed him on the roadway. Hutchings was not wearing a helmet. No charges have been filed. The accident is pending investigation.

A Harlingen High School South football player was taken to a local hospital for examination after he walked away from a rollover accident on Wednesday. Adrian Galvan was on his way to a teammate's house around 6 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle causing him to hit an utility box. He said he avoided hitting a dog. A two-vehicle collision on Tuesday in Deaf Smith County injured five Hereford drivers. A 15-year-old Lyford High School athlete was killed Monday night in an ATV accident east of Lyford. Eight girls were riding a 2012 Polaris Ranger Crew 500 all-terrain vehicle when apparently its right tires hit a patch of mud and caused it to rollover.
