Sebastian Ybarra Killed in Helotes Car Crash

A Kerrville man has died in a hospital following a car accident in Helotes late Sunday. Sebastian Ybarra, 23, of Kerrville, was pronounced dead just before 1 a.m. Monday at University Hospital. A driver, Allen Lynwyatt, 21, was arrested 10:23 p.m. Sunday and was charged with two counts of intoxication assault and one count of intoxication manslaughter. Lynwyatt remained in Bexar County Jail on Monday, his bail set at $250,000. No further information on the crash was released by Helotes Police Department.

Jimmy Don Chittum Dies in Motorcycle Accident in Robinson

An accident Sunday afternoon involving a motorcycle and a car left one man dead in Robinson. A motorcyclist was traveling near the intersection of South Robinson Drive and Kettler Street when he crashed into a car. According to Robinson Police Department, the biker, Jimmy Don Chittum, 50, of Robinson, was rushed to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center’s emergency room where he was later pronounced dead. The identity of the 77-year-old Robinson woman driving the car has not been released. Robinson police are still investigating the fatal crash.

Jerry McAnally Killed in Hit-and-Run on Garland Road

A 68-year-old man was a victim of a hit-and-run accident on Garland Road in East Dallas. Just before 11 p.m. Sunday, Jerry McAnally of Mesquite was crossing Garland near Peavy Road when he was hit by a vehicle traveling north. The driver fled the scene. Another motorist called 911 after finding McAnally lying near the concrete median in the inside lane. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. A Texas man is dead following a three-vehicle crash Wednesday as a snowstorm hits south western Kansas. Roy Gaytan, 21, of Dallas, was killed in the wreck, which happened before 8 p.m. amidst blizzard conditions on U.S. 50, about 13 miles east of Dodge City. Gaytan was a passenger of an eastbound GMC vehicle that slammed head-on into a tractor-trailer heading west. Another westbound vehicle crashed into the others. Initial reports indicated that the tractor-trailer appeared to have crossed the center line. The crash is still under investigation.

James Richard Westerfield II in Serious Condition at Local Hospital

A man was listed Wednesday night in critical condition following a single-car crash just east of McGregor. The wreck occurred at around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday on Mother Neff Parkway just south of Texas Highway 317. According to Department of Public Safety Trooper D.L. Wilson, a 2005 Chevrolet pickup veered off the highway and hit an embankment. The driver, identified as James Richard Westerfield II, sustained lower leg fractures and underwent surgery Wednesday afternoon at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco.

Two people flying a Russian-era aircraft are dead after it went down in a field in Combine Thursday morning. The L-29 Delfin turbojet left Lancaster Municipal Airport and was on a pleasure flight. Before the crash, the pilot was not in contact with air traffic controllers and made no transmissions. A Texas A&M student died in a crash early Wednesday in what police said is another case of texting-and-driving accident. Chandler Small, 19, of Montgomery County, was pronounced dead on the scene of the accident on Highway 30 at the Walker-Grimes county line. The single-vehicle crash happened at about 3:15 a.m. when she was speeding and texting on the highway and lost control of her truck causing it to flip. A rollover accident Monday on U.S. Interstate 35 left three people, including a 2-year-old child, from Burkburnett injured.
