A teenager remains in critical condition Monday at a Houston hospital following a two vehicle crash Saturday evening. Christopher Schultz, 16, of Caldwell, sustained a head injury after a crash that happened at around 8:45 p.m. Saturday in Burleson County near Lyons. DPS said Schultz lost control of his vehicle as he traveled eastbound at a high rate of speed and veered into the path of a Dodge truck heading west. Schultz was not wearing a seatbelt. Professor Valentyn Siniak Dies in ETX Motorcycle Accident Friday

A Wiley College professor was killed Friday evening following a motorcycle accident in Marshall. 37-year-old Valentyn Siniak was riding his motorcycle heading west on US Highway 80 at about 6 p.m. when he crashed into an eastbound Dodge pickup as it tried to turn left onto Loop 390. He succumbed to his injuries and died in Good Shepherd Medical Center-Marshall that night. Siniak worked as an anesthesiologist in Ukraine for three years, before working at Wiley as an assistant professor of biology for six years. Jeffrey Lettig in Local Hospital After I-35 Rollover

A rollover crash along Interstate 35 near West Friday morning sent one Hillsboro man to a local hospital. The incident happened at approximately 9:25 a.m. on the median between the southbound service road and the main lanes of Interstate 35 at mile marker 351. DPS said pickup driver 52-year-old Jeffrey Lettig reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn on the median and land on its top. Lettig was transported to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. No further information is available on the condition of the victim or the cause of the crash at this stage.

Three fatalities and two injuries were reported on Friday’s head-on collision in Farm-to-Market Road 70 near Bishop. An Alvarado woman died in a rollover crash early Wednesday morning in Burleson. The fatal accident occurred at about 12:03 a.m. in Renfro Street near Willow Lane when Rachel Strange, 26, lost control of the vehicle after it came upon a curve too quickly, causing the vehicle to flip several times. Strange, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. Authorities are investigating if there were any other vehicles involved in the wreck.

A father and his son died in a motorcycle crash in East Austin Tuesday evening. Austin police said Rodney A. Carr Sr., 31, was driving a Honda motorcycle with his son Rodney A. Michael Todd Grandstaff Dies in Parker County Crash

A motorcyclist was killed after he struck a tree south of Weatherford late Tuesday. 42-year-old bartender from Parker County, Michael Todd Grandstaff, was pronounced dead shortly after midnight on New Year’s Day. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Grandstaff was riding a motorcycle heading north in a 40 mph speed limit area on Tin Top Road when it left the roadway, crossing the east bar ditch and slammed into a tree. Grandstaff was not wearing a helmet. Investigation continues on the cause of the fatal wreck.

Stuart Miller Charged with DWI on New Year’s Eve Crash

A man is facing DWI charges after he sideswiped another car and left it on its side on New Year's Eve. Abilene police said Stuart Miller, 50, fled the scene at the intersection of Buffalo Gap and Clack. Police caught up with him when his car broke down about a block from the crash. Miller is charged with driving while intoxicated with an accident and bonded out of the Taylor County Jail the next day. No one was harmed in the accident.

Michael McFarland Killed in Seguin Crash

A crash on New Year’s Day in Seguin claimed the life of a 24-year-old motorcyclist. Seguin police said Michael McFarland was traveling south on Texas 46 from West Court Street and attempted to make a left turn when an eastbound Chevrolet Silverado hit him on the right side. According to witnesses, McFarland did not have a green protective arrow to turn left and did not stop to oncoming traffic. The driver of the pickup was uninjured in the accident.

Sara Habala Dies in New Year’s Crash

A 21-year-old woman was killed in a crash on New Year’s Day in Arlington. At about 3 a.m. Tuesday, Sara Habala of Arlington lost control of her vehicle and struck a pole on the side of the road at the intersection of Park Springs Boulevard and Shady Valley Drive. Habala was pronounced dead on the scene. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Authorities said alcohol and speed may be factors to the wreck.
