A motorcyclist was killed after he struck a tree south of Weatherford late Tuesday.
42-year-old bartender from Parker County, Michael Todd Grandstaff, was pronounced dead shortly after midnight on New Year’s Day.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Grandstaff was riding a motorcycle heading north in a 40 mph speed limit area on Tin Top Road when it left the roadway, crossing the east bar ditch and slammed into a tree.
Grandstaff was not wearing a helmet.
Investigation continues on the cause of the fatal wreck.
