Clarke Hodge Ejected from Vehicle in Late Night Crash

A man was injured in a one vehicle crash late Wednesday night on Broadway and East Gentry Parkway. At about 11 p.m. Wednesday, Clarke Hodge, 49, was driving an SUV heading east on Gentry Parkway when it crashed into the turn lane median, hit two light poles and then overturned. Hodge was taken to a Tyler hospital with non-life threatening injuries. All traffic signals have been repaired at this time.

The mayor of a South Texas town has been found dead in an accident on his Atascosa County ranch last Monday. According to the Atascosa County Sheriff's Office, Hollywood Park Mayor William "Bill" Bohlke was apparently attacked by a 500-pound donkey he kept at the ranch in Atascosa County, south of San Antonio. His body was found Monday night during a search by deputies and relatives. Bohlke was 65. A formal cause of death is pending. Bohlke was elected mayor of Hollywood Park in May. An 11-year-old boy from McAllen died one week after being struck by a car while riding his bicycle. McAllen police said the accident occurred when Matthew Scott Yager, 11, was riding his bike and was hit by a car Tuesday night, August 22nd near Nolana Avenue and North 1st Street. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead on Tuesday. An autopsy has been ordered by authorities to learn more about the accident that caused the boy's death. A motorcyclist was critically injured in an accident Tuesday on Interstate 70 in Morgan County. Police say Kenneth Kanzius, 56, of Azle, Texas, was taken to Wishard Hospital with head injuries after he was ejected from his bike. This was after he struck an orange construction barrel in the travel portion of the left lane of I-70 near the 61.6 mile marker. According to witnesses, the barrel may have been struck by a passing vehicle, or sucked into the travel lane by a passing semi and hit the motorcycle's path. A man was injured when his semi rolled over early Tuesday morning in Gove County, approximately 3 miles northeast of Grainfield. At about 1:45 a.m. on Kansas Highway 23, a northbound 2005 Kenworth semi missed a turn and entered a county road. The driver then backed up across the highway to turn around when the trailer entered a ditch causing the semi to turn over and roll onto the driver's side. Round Rock police said Delfred McLennan, 27, was riding his motorcycle and struck a pole at around 4:15 p.m. at 2500 South A.W. Grimes and Louis Henna. McLennan was pronounced dead at the scene. A man died after his car was struck by an 18-wheeler on Highway 59 Tuesday morning. The accident occurred at around 6:20 a.m. in front of BJ's Farms on U.S. Highway 59 north. The Texas Department of Public Safety reports that Glenda McElwee of Texarkana died at the scene of an accident that occurred on Tri-State road at around 6 o'clock Tuesday morning. A fatal traffic accident killed a 43-year-old woman in South Austin on Monday. According to the Austin police, a woman was taking the Slaughter Lane exit and attempted to re-enter I-35 at the last second. The vehicle veered while on the exit ramp and caused it to roll several times. The driver, identified as Sonia Garcia, 43, was ejected from her vehicle. The accident happened at around 11 a.m. and Garcia was pronounced dead three hours later at the University Medical Center at Brackenridge Hospital. This is Austin’s 50th traffic fatality of 2012.
