Felipe Turrubiates Victim of Edinburg Hit-and-Run

A bicyclist was a victim of a hit-and-run accident in Edinburg Tuesday night. Felipe Turrubiates, 63, lost a leg and remains in critical condition after the accident which happened at about 7 p.m. on Rogers Road. Dorothy Vinghouse Moore Killed in Crash on Rural Central Texas Road

An 83-year-old woman was killed following a crash on a rural highway in Coryell County Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred just after 1:30 p.m. near the intersection of Farm-to-Market road 116 and Coryell County road 145. Dorothy Vinghouse Moore, 83, of Copperas Cove, was driving north on FM 116 in a 2001 Dodge pickup truck when she lost control of the vehicle causing it to veer off the paved surface, overturn and hit a tree. James Lee Frederick Dies in Head-On Collision

A head-on collision in Lipscomb County involving a car and a tractor–trailer left one man dead on Monday. The accident happened at about 7:10 a.m. on U.S. Highway 60 about six miles west of Higgins. Texas Department of Public Safety said an oil rig worker, James Lee Frederick, 44, of Higgins, was traveling east in a 1993 Buick Roadmaster. He fell asleep and glided into the westbound lane and then slammed into a 2012 Kenworth truck towing a flatbed trailer. A 26-year-old man was killed after he was ejected from his vehicle in a one-vehicle crash in Knox County. David Anthony Lamb from Seymour died Monday morning after the crash on U.S. Highway 82, about five miles east of Benjamin, Texas at around 2:00 a.m. Lamb was traveling westbound on the highway in a 2003 Dodge Pickup when he failed to negotiate a curve, causing the truck to skid across the eastbound lane, go into a south barrow ditch and overturn through a fence. A head-on crash in Karnes County left one woman dead and five people, including two children, injured. The crash happened at about 1:50 a.m. Sunday when an SUV heading north on Texas 239 drove onto the southbound lane, for an unknown reason, and struck a Ford pickup carrying five people. One of the pickup’s passengers, 68-year-old Ofelia Cruz Cortez, was pronounced dead on the scene of the crash. Belinda Cisneros Killed in Austin Crash

Sunday night’s two-vehicle collision in southeast Austin left one person dead and four children injured. At about 8 p.m., a Chevrolet Suburban and 18-wheeler collided on Hwy 183 southbound near the Hwy 290 intersection. According to Austin police, the Suburban was stuck in a pole, pinning its occupants inside. The right front passenger in the Suburban, Belinda Cisneros, 28, was pronounced dead on the scene.  Four children were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Jason Hoffman Hurt in I-10 Crash

A three-vehicle crash on the North Side early Sunday morning left one man injured. The San Antonio police reported that a blue Mitsubishi was traveling at a high rate of speed on Interstate 10 near Callaghan Road when its driver lost control of the vehicle. The Mitsubishi crossed the median and struck two oncoming vehicles in the westbound lanes. Nathan Berman Dies From Injuries in Motorcycle Crash

A 66-year-old motorcyclist died Sunday at a local hospital, a day after he was hurt from a crash in Tarrant County. The victim, identified as Nathan Berman of Fort Worth, sustained blunt trauma to his head and chest after he crashed his motorcycle on Farm Market Road 718 and Maxwell Boulevard in an unincorporated area of Tarrant County at about 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Berman died early Sunday morning at John Peter Smith Hospital. The Tarrant County medical examiner's office said his death was ruled an accident. No further information is available at this stage.

A weekend crash on the East Side claimed the life of a long-time employee at the San Antonio Express-News. The wreck on Interstate 10 near Martin Luther King Drive occurred when Sylvia Martinez, 60, veered off the highway and into a guard rail at around 4 p.m. Saturday.
