One woman is dead and another one was injured after the car they were driving in flipped over near Lubbock on Monday. A red SUV rolled over multiple times on 1100 block of Texas 114 between CR 1100 and 1200 killing its driver, 56-year-old Ortensia Perez. A female teen passenger, believed to be the victim’s daughter, was trapped in the car and had to be extracted. No further information is available on the extent of her injuries and the cause of the accident.

Officer Edrees Mukhtar Hurt in N.W. Side Crash

A police officer was injured in a two-vehicle collision Monday morning on Medical Drive. Officer Edrees Mukhtar, 28, was responding to a routine call when the crash happened at about 2:45 a.m. just west of Interstate 10. He was heading east when he hit a wet spot, lost control and struck a curb. His vehicle skid sideways and crashed into a westbound pickup. A rollover crash near Fort Stockton on Sunday claimed the life of a 19-year-old Sul Ross State University linebacker. Texas Department of Public Safety officials said the accident happened just after 7 a.m. on State Highway 18 when a northbound 2005 Ford pickup, driven by Ian Smith, left the roadway and rolled over. A man is facing charges after crashing into a marked Dallas PD car near Stemmons Freeway early Sunday morning. Manuel Cardona, 30, was booked in a Dallas County jail and faces a DWI charge after speeding through the intersection of Lombardy Lane and Finnell Street and ploughed his Hummer into a Dallas police car at about 1 a.m. Officers were not injured and determined it was a drunk-driving accident. Mark Molina Killed in San Antonio Crash

An Austin motorcyclist was killed in an accident downtown on Saturday. The accident took place at around 8 p.m. on the ramp from southbound Interstate 35 to westbound Interstate 10. San Antonio police said 41-year-old Mark Molina was speeding and failed to take a curve in the road. He lost control of his bike and crashed into a guardrail. Molina was ejected from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead on the scene. Police report stated he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The Texas Department of Public Safety have identified the victim as 51-year-old Susan Swindle, of Abilene. A man is accused of crashing into a railroad crossing arm on Rock Prairie near Wellborn Road and then fled the scene. Logan Davis, 23, of College Station, was drunk when he and his full-sized pickup were found by police about one mile to the west at Rock Prairie and Ridgecrest. A woman was dead after she crossed Culebra Road near Potranco Road on the West Side and was struck by two vehicles. The victim was identified as 38-year-old Heidi Jane Lowry.
