Early Monday’s traffic accident in Ward County claimed the lives of two Alpine residents and injured four others. The accident occurred at around 12:15 a.m. when a 1989 Chevrolet Suburban carrying five people missed the exit at Interstate 20 near mile marker 81 in Ward County. The driver, Robert Victorino, 59, of Alpine, backed the vehicle in order to make the exit when a westbound 2011 Volvo tractor/trailer rig slammed into the Suburban’s back. A man is in critical condition following a motorcycle crash in Tyler Sunday afternoon. It was 3 p.m. when a motorcyclist was traveling west at an unsafe speed on Farm-to-Market Road 850, about half a mile west of County Road 21. The operator, John Bayless, lost control of the bike causing it to go into a ditch on the right side of the road and hit a culvert underneath a driveway. An El Paso police officer has been killed after he was struck while trying to remove a ladder in a chain-reaction traffic accident on Interstate 10. Officer Angel Garcia, 27, was outside of his patrol car with the lights flashing early Sunday as he tried to pull a ladder from the road when four vehicles crashed into each other in what police said to be a chain-reaction. A Newton man was killed in Sunday’s five-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 27 just north of Sulphur near Houston River Road. Debra Hardaway Neal, 57, was taken to Methodist Dallas Medical Center where she later died after a 2009 white Nissan Altima hit her while crossing W. A woman is in critical condition and a man is facing charges following a one-vehicle traffic accident early Thursday in San Antonio. A 33-year-old man died in Wednesday night’s crash on Interstate 10 near Medical Drive. The fatal wreck happened at about 11:21 p.m. when a Toyota Tundra traveling east on Interstate 10 tried to pass a Ford pickup but clipped it and hit a concrete barrier to the right. Two Dallas Police motorcycle officers have been injured after a crash near Zang curve Tuesday afternoon.
