The Department of Public Safety seeks witnesses of the accident that killed a woman on Sunday.

A pickup truck was heading east on Highway 21 in northeast Brazos County when a piece of angle iron that evidently flew off the trailer of an oncoming 18-wheeler crashed into the windshield of the truck.

Charles Robert, 35, who was driving the pickup, was uninjured but his passenger Tracey White, 33, of Bryan, was hit by the iron and was sent to a nearby hospital where she died.

The driver of the westbound 18-wheeler did not stop after the accident.

The DPS is asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident to call the Bryan Highway Patrol Office at (979) 776-3101.
