A driver crashed into the roof of a house then overturned and landed upside down on the roof of a neighboring home Sunday in Houston.
Police said the crash occurred in northwest Harris County about 2:15 a.m. Sunday, when a speeding car failed to make a curve, hit an embankment and went airborne.
The car flipped over and landed upside down on the roof of Susan Mistini’s house.
Mistini thought someone was breaking into her home as the heavy landing triggered her alarm system until a neighbor informed her that there was a car on her roof.
“I said, ‘What’s going on?’ And he said, ‘Hurry up, there’s a car in your roof,'” said Mistini.
“A car on my roof? And he said, ‘yes a car on your roof.'”
The driver was rescued and taken to a hospital in stable condition.
An intoxication result is pending and authorities have not yet determined whether or not the driver will be facing charges.
