A woman died in a hospital Wednesday after being critically injured in a car crash Monday morning on U.S. Highway 69 near Tram Road.
Roxanna Hagan White, 40, was on her way to take care of a friend’s elderly mother Monday morning when a vehicle failed to stop and hit her vehicle. White was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck but miraculously she was revived on the way to Christus Hospital Saint Elizabeth.
White then finally passed away at 10:34 p.m. Wednesday night.
According to doctors, White had very low brain activity due to the lack of oxygen her brain received when she had died at the scene of the wreck.
White is a native of Missouri but has lived in Southeast Texas for the past 14 years. She previously worked at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.
She is survived by her mother and brother.
