A man is in critical condition Wednesday after he was trapped in a van when it collided with a gas tanker in I-20.
A driver of an empty gas tanker was traveling on the frontage road in front of Lowes when he lost control, the Abilene police said.
The tanker crossed the westbound lanes, slammed into a van and ended up in the median.
The driver of the van, identified as Robert Keller, was transported to Hendrick Medical Center in critical condition. Keller is a Marine recruiter based in Abilene.
The truck driver was uninjured.
