A Texas man died in a single vehicle crash on La. Highway 10 in East Feliciana Parish just after midnight on Monday.
Louisiana State Police troopers said Richard Kennedy Jr., 25, of Austin, TX, was driving a pickup towing a travel trailer east on LA Highway 10, east of LA Highway 961 in East Feliciana Parish, when he veered of the left side of the road and hit several trees.
Kennedy was pronounced dead on the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
Investigators are trying to determine if alcohol was a factor in the crash. Routine toxicology samples have been obtained and submitted for analysis to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab.
State Police said the crash remains under investigation.
Troopers remind motorists of the Louisiana State Law requiring all occupants to be properly restrained. Statistics show wearing a seatbelt can greatly reduce risk of injury in most crashes.
