Two motorists were killed and three other people were injured Saturday night in a four-vehicle wreck on a Denton street, Denton police said Sunday.
Saturday night at around 9.p.m., Rhonda Barney, 57, of Carrollton, was driving west in a Nissan Altima in the 8100 block of West University Drive in Denton. She drifted into the eastbound lane of traffic and hit a Lexus.
The Altima continued and smashed almost head-on with an eastbound Toyota Tacoma truck driven by Ryan Abraham, 21, of Ponder. The truck then collided with a PT Cruiser.
Barney was pronounced dead at the scene. The Lexus driver was injured and is in stable condition Sunday at a local hospital.
Police said Abraham died at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Denton shortly after the accident. The Cruiser which was driven by a 20-year-old woman and her 29-year-old male passenger suffered serious injuries.
Denton Street was closed from 9 p.m. Saturday until 4 a.m. Sunday while authorities investigated.
The specific cause of the wreck has yet to be determined.
