Following the official opening of the stretch of highway on Route 130 where there is now a nationwide highest speed limit of 85 miles per hour, Rad Law Firm issued a press release advising that it is likely that this higher speed limit will claim more lives.
On the day the tollway started charging drivers for using the highway, the first fatality was immediately a fact. Of course, car accidents happen at any given speed but statistics show that which each speed increase the percentage of fatal accidents rise too. Getting into an accident at 60 mph is bad, getting into that same accident at 85 mph is, more often than not, deadly.
Our personal injury attorneys urge to take caution, do not take this new speed limit as a blessing to speed. It is vital to stay alert, be aware of your surroundings and always wear your seat belt. When overtaking an 18-wheeler truck, always make sure that you have enough speed and try to stay out of the blind spots of the truck driver. Here at Rad Law Firm we care for your safety, do not become another statistic!
