A 63-year-old woman was injured after she crashed her car due to an apparent medical issue Tuesday afternoon in Lufkin.
Texas Department of Public Safety trooper David Flowers said the incident occurred at about 3:30 p.m. on FM 58, less than a mile from FM 1818.
Marilyn Jones of Lufkin came from a doctor’s appointment and was heading south on FM 58 when she ran off the road, struck a sign and then a culvert.
Her Mercury was hurled about 10 yards and came to rest on the side of the road facing a house.
Jones was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
