A tractor-trailer crash in Midland Tuesday afternoon left one man dead and another in serious condition.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the wreck occurred at about 1 p.m. on Craddick Highway, about a half-mile west of Texas 349, when a pickup heading east collided with a big rig.
The pickup driver, Lance Schneider, 50, of San Antonio, was pronounced dead on the scene.
A passenger in the pickup, Dannie Schlag, 22, of Atascosa, was seriously injured and was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital.
Both Schneider and Schlag were wearing seat belts.
The trucker had minor injuries.
