A College Station woman is dead following a crash in Milam County Thursday morning.
Texas Department of Public Safety officials said the accident happened around 7:15 a.m. on FM 485, about 15 miles northwest from Cameron.
Kirsten Salerno, 28, was driving a 2007 Toyota sedan west on FM 485 when another Toyota sedan heading east veered into her path and struck her car on the driver’s side.
Salerno was pronounced dead at the scene.
The male driver of the other vehicle was taken to Scott and White Hospital in Temple. His condition is unknown.
The crash remains under investigation and so far, no charges have been filed.
Salerno is the wife of A&M Consolidated Head Soccer coach Stephano Salerno. She was a doctoral psychology student at Texas A&M University and was on her way to the Temple V.A. hospital to help with counseling.
