A motorcyclist was critically injured in an accident Tuesday on Interstate 70 in Morgan County.
Police say Kenneth Kanzius, 56, of Azle, Texas, was taken to Wishard Hospital with head injuries after he was ejected from his bike. This was after he struck an orange construction barrel in the travel portion of the left lane of I-70 near the 61.6 mile marker.
According to witnesses, the barrel may have been struck by a passing vehicle, or sucked into the travel lane by a passing semi and hit the motorcycle’s path.
Investigators report that Kanzius was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
