A pedestrian died Monday night while jaywalking at a busy intersection on the Southwest Side.
44-year-old Juan Gomez was hit by an eastbound truck while crossing in the 2400 block of Southwest Military Drive at around 11p.m.
The driver of Ford truck involved in the accident stayed at the scene. Gomez died from fatal injuries only minutes after the accident.
According to police, the driver will not be charged as he was not driving at a high rate of speed and was proven not intoxicated.
