Two men were killed in an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) accident in Pope County on Saturday.

John Andrew Beard, 44, of Road Spring, and his passenger Jonathan Norvell West, 48, of Humble, were pronounced dead on the scene by Pope County Coroner Leonard Krout.

The Arkansas State Police said the two men were driving on a 2012 Polaris RZR heading south on U.S. Forest Service Road 1310. The ATV missed a turn left, went off the roadway and hit a tree.

Authorities continue to investigate the fatal crash.
