A Fort Hood soldier was killed Wednesday night in a motorcycle accident in Copperas Cove.
The fatal wreck happened before 11 p.m. about three miles south of Copperas Cove on Farm-to-Market Road 116, just inside the Bell County line.
James Ryan Kurth, 26, was heading south on FM 116 riding a 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he lost control in a curve, causing the bike to leave the roadway.
According to DPS, Kurth was thrown from the bike and was pronounced dead on the scene by Bell County Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke.
Kurth was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
The victim’s body was taken to Central Texas Mortuary.
