Two people are dead following a crash involving a passenger car and a pickup truck east of Marlin Monday afternoon.
A Department of Public Safety trooper said a 2008 Silverado pickup truck traveling west on FM 147 crossed the median near a curve, nicked an eastbound Kia and then crashed head-on with a 1997 Lincoln Town Car.
The driver of the Lincoln, 73-year-old Geneva Roberts Stone, was instantly killed in the wreck which happened at around 3:45 p.m.
Her passenger, 78-year-old Marvin Reese Stone, was flown to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
The two victims were from Freestone County.
The woman driving the pickup was also taken to Hillcrest for treatment of a leg injury, DPS said.
