The 22-year-old son of Tejano star Emilio Navaira III has been charged with driving while intoxicated early Saturday.
The arresting officer said Emilio Casias Navaira IV was driving a white SUV on Northwest Loop 410 and had been cutting through traffic. He was pulled over by police while he was approaching the ramp towards south of U.S. 281.
The officer added that Navaira’s eyes were inflamed and watery. He looked uncoordinated and couldn’t maintain his balance while taking a sobriety test. He was clearly intoxicated, the officer said.
Navaira told police that he just came from Henry’s Puffy Tacos where he had dinner and drank margarita. He also said he had only been listening to music and sending text to his mother when officer asked him to stop.
Navaira was arrested around 1 a.m. Saturday and charged with DWI. His bail was set at $1,000, which was paid shortly after his arrest. It was his first arrest.
Navaria is scheduled to appear in court on April 1.
