A teenager who was struck by a vehicle while walking across a North Side street Monday night has died of his injuries on Tuesday.
According to San Antonio police, 16-year-old Daniel Espinoza stopped in a traffic lane after crossing the 5500 block of Fredericksburg Road when he was hit by a 2006 Volvo at about 7 p.m. Monday.
The driver of the car stopped and tried to assist the teen, who had not been walking in the crosswalk.
Espinoza was transported to the University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at around 9 p.m. Tuesday.
The motorist was not intoxicated and is not expected to face charges.
