Two brothers who left the scene after striking another boat and killed a man in Southeast Texas have turned themselves in Sunday night.
The operators of a motor boat fled after hitting a fishing boat with two men on board Saturday night in Baytown’s Cedar Bayou. One victim was rescued shortly after the incident while his companion, Damon Miller of Baytown, was missing. Two days after the accident, Miller’s body was recovered by The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
Investigators say Jason Clyde Delavergne, 36, and Joseph Charles Delavergne, 33, have been charged with failure to stop and render aid. The brothers could face additional charges, says Parks and Wildlife spokesman Mike Cox.
Both were released Monday on bond of $10,000 apiece.
