Two people were hurt after two vehicles crashed into a wire barrier Tuesday morning.
The accident occurred at around 11:40 a.m. Tuesday in the 4400 block Houston Harte Expressway.
According to an email by police spokeswoman Officer Tracy Gonzalez, two vehicles were on the eastbound lanes of Houston Harte, a 1997 Honda sedan on the right lane and 2005 Dodge Ram pickup on the left.
The pickup, driven by Charles Starr, 33, changed lanes and the car swerved to avoid the truck and overcorrected.
Both vehicles collided and hit the cable barrier, Gonzalez said.
Starr and the car’s driver, identified as Valeria Juarez, 23, were both entangled in the median cable restraint system. Starr had to be extracted from his vehicle. Technicians cut the barricade.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
They were taken to Shannon Medical Center for unknown conditions. Both had been released as of Tuesday evening.
Police said no citations were issued.
