A drunken driver was taken to jail after he crashed into an athletic facility in East Arlington early Friday morning.
Cecilio Santos Jr. was driving a Chrysler 300 and was initially stopped by police about 2 a.m. for violating a traffic rule but he fled.
Police was able to catch Santos after a short chase at T-intersection at Timberlake Drive and Pioneer Parkway where Santos slammed his car through the wall of Ace Volleyball Center.
Santos was charged with driving while intoxicated and evading arrest with a bail set at $6,000.
Police said his female passenger was also detained and charged with public intoxication.
