A head-on collision in the Oklahoma Panhandle Wednesday morning involving an SUV and a van full of men headed to work at a Texas meatpacking plant killed at least seven people. At approximately 6:15 a.m., a Chevrolet Suburban was speeding along Highway 412, about 6 and a half miles west of Elmwood in Beaver County, Oklahoma. The sports utility vehicle passed a couple of trucks along the highway before it veered across the median and crashed head-on into an oncoming eastbound van. A fatal collision early Tuesday morning in Canyon claimed the life of a 21-year-old West Texas A&M University cheerleader. The Canyon Police Department responded to a call just after midnight about a traffic collision between a car and a train at the 100th block of 4th street. Officers found Shelbi McClure dead on the scene. According to Burlington Northern Santa Fe spokesman Joel Faust, the train was traveling west at 40 m.p.h. at the 100 block of 4th Street. An 11-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene after she was struck by a semi as she was sitting at a bus stop Monday morning in Texas City. The incident happened just before 8 a.m. in the 2900 block of 26th Street where Christina Lopez waited for the school bus and a trucker, a neighbor, turned the corner, hit and killed her. A three-vehicle crash at the intersection of University Drive East and Copperfield Parkway sent three people to the hospital Tuesday morning. At around 11:20 a.m., a 2009 Chevrolet pickup truck, driven by Betty Pennington, 78, of Bryan, was heading east on University Drive East. A rollover accident in West Texas on Monday left one Mesquite teenager dead and four others injured. The fatal accident happened at about 2:30 p.m. Monday on U.S. Highway 84 near Roscoe, just west of Sweetwater. Five students from Horn High School were returning from a weekend visit to Texas Tech University when the driver of the Volvo station wagon they were riding in overcorrected causing the vehicle to flip over. A man riding his bicycle was left dead after a hit and run accident on the Congress Avenue Bridge early Sunday. The Austin Police Department said 30-year-old Robert Anthony Ramirez was travelling south in the right lane on Congress Avenue. A pickup truck stopped in the middle lane and slowed for the bike. The accident occurred at around 4:30 a.m. when a speeding black Ford Mustang passed the pickup truck and hit Ramirez. A woman fell from the 19th floor of a downtown Dallas apartment building and died Sunday. Early Sunday morning, 25-year-old Christine Frenzel of Dallas, and some other people were visiting a friend who lived in Davis Building, located at 1309 Main Street, said Michael Frenzel, her older brother. Her friends said that she fell from the 19th floor when switching the position of her legs. A motorcyclist was hit from behind and dragged by a 2012 Ford F-350 early Saturday morning in the 7000 block of South Soncy Road. Julius AJ Gray, 33, of Amarillo, was traveling southbound in the right lane on his 1997 AVES custom motorcycle at about 2:41 a.m. when he was struck by a pickup driven by Joshua W. At about 2 p.m., the aircraft took off from Northwest Regional Airport to head south but instantly lost altitude and crashed into a wooded area in Northlake, about a half mile from the runway. A 51-year-old woman died in a three-vehicle accident on FM 1960 Friday afternoon. It was around 2:30 p.m. Friday when Pamela Melton Raines, 51, had slowed down to make a left turn onto CR 614.
