Arturo Salinas Killed in West Mt. Houston Crash

A man died and another injured in a two-vehicle crash in Harris County early Sunday morning. Arturo Salinas was pronounced dead on the scene of the crash which occurred at around 3:20 a.m. near the 2400 block of West Mt. Houston. Salinas was driving a silver 2007 Ford Taurus heading east down the northwest Harris County road when he crossed the median and entered the opposite lane, striking a maroon 1998 Nissan Pathfinder. Ricardo Zepata-Bernal, the driver of the Nissan, was transported to an area hospital with unknown conditions. Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies are investigating the crash.

Dallas Police Officer Recardo Trejo Dies in Off Duty Crash

A Dallas police officer died Saturday afternoon in a head-on crash in Kendall County. Sr. Cpl. Recardo Trejo, 54, was pronounced dead on the scene after he collided with another vehicle near San Antonio at about 12:25 p.m. Trejo crossed into oncoming traffic as he headed around a curve going east on Texas 46 before he crashed head-on into another vehicle driven by Donald Moore of Pipe Creek. A two-vehicle wreck in Abilene early Saturday morning left a man and a woman dead. According to a statement from the Abilene Police Department, the accident happened at around 2:15 a.m. at the intersection of South 14th Street and Danville Drive. Two men are dead after Wednesday morning’s fiery crash in Atascosa County. The incident occurred at about 7 a.m. on FM 476 near Rogers Road, just outside of Poteet.
