Texas Department of Public Safety officials said the accident happened around 7:15 a.m. on FM 485, about 15 miles northwest from Cameron. Kevin Scott Meador Dies in Callahan County Crash

One person is dead following a one-vehicle accident in Callahan County Tuesday afternoon. In a release by the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 2005 Ford pickup was travelling east on Interstate 20 when the driver lost control and slammed into a guardrail at mile marker 321. The driver, who was identified as 60-year-old Kevin Scott Meador of Stephenville, was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Meador was transported to Eastland Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and died at 5:11 p.m. Investigators said the weather was clear and the roadway was dry.
