A young woman was killed early Sunday morning when she was hit by a service truck, with its driver failing to stop on the South Freeway in Fort Worth. Police said 21-year-old Charayla McMillan of Crowley was riding in the back seat with family members when she started feeling ill. A woman and her three children were pronounced dead on the scene of a fiery crash in South Texas Sunday morning. The accident happened about 12 miles northeast of George West, 60 miles northwest of Corpus Christi. Deputies say Joannie Lopez, 22, of George West, was driving the SUV when it went off U.S. 59, hit a tree and burst into flames. The accident happened just before 6 p.m. Friday evening on County Road 7900 about a mile west of Highway 87 and just south of FM 41. Texas Department of Public Safety officials said the accident happened around 7:15 a.m. on FM 485, about 15 miles northwest from Cameron. Kirsten Salerno, 28, was driving a 2007 Toyota sedan west on FM 485 when another Toyota sedan heading east veered into her path and struck her car on the driver's side. The crash occurred when Robert Charles Taplin III, 20, of Waco, slammed into the pickup near the intersection of North New Road and Watt Avenue just before 3 p.m. Taplin was riding a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle when he crashed into the side of a Ford F-250 pickup that pulled onto New Road from the parking lot of the Gift Horse store. Gibbons, 66, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Venture traveling south on FM 37 and stopped at the stop sign. She proceeded into the path of a 2001 Kenworth semi which was traveling west on U.S. 84. One person is dead following a one-vehicle accident in Callahan County Tuesday afternoon. In a release by the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 2005 Ford pickup was travelling east on Interstate 20 when the driver lost control and slammed into a guardrail at mile marker 321. The driver, who was identified as 60-year-old Kevin Scott Meador of Stephenville, was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Meador was transported to Eastland Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and died at 5:11 p.m. Investigators said the weather was clear and the roadway was dry.
