Brazos County Worker Bobby Joe Green Killed in Truck Collision

A Brazos County worker was killed in a major accident Tuesday morning at the intersection of FM 2818 and Sandy Point Road.

At about 9:47a.m., Bobby Joe Green, 61, was driving a Brazos County Road and Bridge truck traveling eastbound of Sandy Point Road while a 6-ton Aggieland Wrecker tow truck was traveling in the opposite direction.

Green crossed into the tow truck driver’s lane and was hit by the truck, officials said.

Green was pronounced dead at St. Joseph hospital.

The Aggieland Wrecker driver was transported with non-life threatening injuries.

Green worked for the city of Bryan’s Public Works Department prior to working as a mower at the Road and Bridge Department in May 2004. He was working with the title of light equipment operator as of Tuesday.
