A worker from Gainesville was injured after being pinned beneath a truck Tuesday morning near the intersection of Locust and Harris streets.
According to DPS Public Information Officer Mark Tackett, 30-year-old Angel Garcia was driving a 2010 Mack garbage truck around 10 a.m. Tuesday. He lost control, veered off the road and struck a couple of trees. Garcia was ejected from his seat due to the impact while truck was rolling.
Tackett said “He was thrown to the ground and pinned underneath the right rear tires of the truck.” He was transported to the hospital right after he was released by emergency personnel.
Garcia was listed in stable condition as of 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The cause of the incident is still being investigated.
