A four-auto collision on Interstate 20 near mile marker 597 on Tuesday killed two local men.
Alex Terhune, 26, and passenger Brandie Lockwood, 24, both from Marshall, were pronounced dead on the scene of the accident which occurred at about 1 a.m.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety officials, Terhune was driving east on I-20 when he crashed into the rear of a Chevrolet Avalanche. After impact, Terhune was ejected from the vehicle and the Avalanche was pushed into a tractor-trailer.
A BMW trying to avoid the collision hit Terhune, who was lying on the roadway.
Both were not wearing seatbelts.
There were no other injuries reported from the fatal crash.
