A man with car trouble was struck and killed in a hit-and-run accident on the East Side early Sunday.
The incident happened at about 2 a.m. in the 3000 block of Interstate 10. Alejandro Nieves, 41, had car trouble and pulled over on the edge of the exit ramp to Roland Avenue.
San Antonio Police officials said Nieves was hit by a truck when he got out of the car and stood at the driver’s side door. The truck driver did not stop and fled the scene.
Nieves died in the accident.
The truck driver, when identified, will be charged with failure to stop and render aid, officials said.
