A man was arrested on Christmas Day after a drunken-driving accident injured his passengers, a woman and four children.
Police arrived at the scene of the accident in the 9500 block of Texas 151 at about 5 a.m. Tuesday and found Abelardo Muniz Jr., 34, a woman and four children on the highway walking away from the scene.
Muniz was behind the wheel of a 2004 GMC Envoy they were riding in when he lost control and the SUV rolled over.
The woman suffered a broken nose and facial fracture. She was treated at the University Hospital and was listed in stable condition.
A 5-year-old girl suffered a possible broken arm.
The other children had minor injuries and were released at the scene.
Police said Muniz had a strong odor of alcohol, slurred speech and bloodshot eyes, and admitted he’d had been drinking.
Muniz has been charged with two counts of intoxication assault and three counts of driving while intoxicated with a child under the age of 15.
He was released Tuesday night from Bexar County Jail on $70,000 bail.
