A four-auto crash in Gillespie County Sunday afternoon left one man dead and another injured.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said Walter Wesley Ellebracht, 38, was heading west on U.S. 290 near Chaparral Drive when he veered into oncoming traffic at approximately 12:40 p.m.
He side-swiped one vehicle before slamming head-on into a Subaru Forester.
Ellebracht was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deborah Lynn Coler, who behind the wheel of the Subaru, was flown to San Antonio Military Medical Center. Her condition is unknown.
A fourth vehicle was struck by debris.
