A man was killed in the motorcycle crash in Amarillo Sunday night.

Michael Hodges, 38, was transported to a local hospital after he lost control of his bike and later died from his injuries.

Hodges had been traveling westbound on 6th Street and lost control. He fell off from his bike and slid across his lane of traffic into oncoming traffic. He struck an eastbound Cadillac Escalade truck’s driver side door.

The incident happened at about 7 p.m. at 3700 block of Southwest 6th.

Police said speed was a factor in the fatal motorcycle crash.

The crash is pending investigation.
