A crash in Guadalupe County killed an 80-year-old woman and injured three others.

It was June 1, 2012, at about 2:20 p.m. when a northbound pickup driven by Roman Esparza, 20, veered across the road avoiding an eastbound car that did not stop before crossing on FM 1339. The truck did not hit the car but crashed into another Northbound truck, said the Texas Department of Public Safety.

On board were Estefana Sanchez, 80, of Seguin, Patricia Rivera, 46, and Martin Rivera, 9. They were sent to the University Hospital and authorities said Martin Rivera was seriously injured while Sanchez did not survive and was pronounced dead at 5:30 p.m.

Patricia Rivera had minor injuries and is in a better condition. No information was obtained from the third vehicle and its driver.
