A Conroe woman was killed in an auto-pedestrian accident in Willis early Tuesday morning.
Willis police department said a vehicle was traveling eastbound near the intersection of FM 1097 and Business Park Drive at about 1 a.m. when the driver struck 42-year-old Ginger Lynn Scheibele.
The driver, Roy Atkinson, 30, of Willis, had difficulty seeing Scheibele as she was wearing a black T-shirt and dark jeans.
Scheibele was killed upon impact.
Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Lanny Moriarty ordered an autopsy and the victim’s body was taken to Montgomery County Forensic Center in Conroe.
Alcohol may not be a contributing factor in the crash and there was no indication that Atkinson had drifted out of his lane, police said.
