A teenager died after the pickup truck he was driving in crashed in rural Denton County outside of Sanger early Saturday morning.
The Department of Public Safety said the crash happened just after 4 a.m. when a 2005 GMC truck left the pavement in the 4300 block of View Road and crashed into an utility pole and into a tree.
The driver, Tyler Monroe, 18, of Sanger, was treated with minor injuries at Denton Regional Medical Center.
His passenger, 17-year-old Bradley Joe Mitchel of Athens, died at the scene.
Monroe was arrested on Intoxication Manslaughter charges with no bond.
The accident is still under investigation.
