A man was struck and killed in a hit-and-run on Christmas Eve in San Antonio.
Police responded to a call for a body lying at the roadway in the 1500 block of Goliad Road, just south of East Southcross Boulevard.
Bernardo Rodriguez, 49, was walking a block from his home to a nearby store when he was struck by a vehicle at about 8:20 p.m. Monday.
Rodriguez was pronounced dead on the scene. A witness saw a tan Cadillac with a damaged windshield leave the area.
He leaves behind a 27-year-old daughter with Down syndrome, whom he raised himself.
