A head-on crash in Comal County Monday left one woman dead and a man injured.
Texas Department of Public Safety said the accident happened at about 3:40 p.m. when a pickup was passing multiple vehicles on the shoulder on FM 306. He re-entered the road in a side-skid, hitting a westbound SUV driven by Alta Payne, 54, and a third vehicle.
Payne was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The pickup driver, Paul Campbell, 25, was flown to San Antonio Military Medical Center. His condition is unknown.
