A man died on Monday in a hospital from his injuries in Sunday morning’s traffic accident on Farm-to-Market Road 622.

A hospital spokeswoman said, A. J. Ripps, 25, of Goliad, was in critical condition late Monday afternoon and died later that evening.

Ripps was seriously injured after he was ejected from his 2003 Ford F-250 pickup when it rolled near the intersection of Leisure Lane at about 3:16 a.m. Sunday.

Ripps was reportedly traveling at an unsafe speed as he was heading west on the farm road and was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

He was transported to DeTar Hospital Navarro in Victoria before being taken to San Antonio by helicopter.

The wreck remains under investigation.
